Vision
To strengthen coordinated approaches towards an alignment between all sectors to work seamlessly as “One-ITU” By optimizing our internal capabilities, we will strengthen the Union’s ability to deliver on its global mission and better serve our Member States and membership.
Mission
To ensure that the ITU’s strategic goals are delivered efficiently through operational alignment and cross-functional collaboration. As Deputy Secretary- General, I will focus on bridging leadership tiers and execution, optimizing internal processes, and striving to support mobilization and utilization of new resources for ITU’s initiatives.
ADEL’S PRIORITIES FOR THE ITU
Putting Member States First
Membership is at the heart of the work of ITU. I will work to ensure that all countries, regardless of size or economic status, have an equal opportunity to voice their suggestions and shape ITU’s agenda.
True Digital Inclusion requires strong consultation, wide engagement and decisions that reflect the diversity of our global membership.
ITU must continue to evolve to meet today’s challenges. I will focus on creating processes that demonstrate a more effective and result-oriented organization, ensuring that the priorities of all Member States are truly reflected and celebrated in our work.
Strengthening ITU from within
Member States except an ITU that is efficient, responsive and is aligned with the constant-changes needs in the digital age.
I will work to streamline processes, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, and ensure that resources are allocated to where they can make the most impact.
Clear Communication and open decision-making will guide our efforts, ensuring that Member States have the information they need to engage effectively.
Building internal capacity will be key to ensuring ITU’s processes and staff are well-equipped to meet the evolving demands of our global membership.
Delivering on ITU's Global Mission
As Deputy Secretary-General, I will support and strive to better equip the three ITU bureaus in uniting policymakers and all relevant stakeholders to drive concrete actions for meaningful connectivity.
I will focus on initiatives that directly advances the SDGs, WSIS Action Plans, and Global Digital Compact, ensuring that the ITU’s efforts are strategically aligned with global priorities and requirements of Member States.
Enhanced collaboration in the prevailing digital environment will focus on delivering results and helping Member States implement digital strategies, scale innovation, and extend connectivity to underserved communities.
