Vision
To enable a modern, fit-for-purpose One-ITU that delivers real benefits to all Member States through strong coordination between its three sectors, and a renewed focus on unity, trust, and fairness across the Union.
Mission
To drive the One-ITU vision by strengthening transparency, fairness, and operational alignment across the Union so that decisions are faster, consultations are more inclusive, and outcomes deliver real benefits for all Member States. This will reinforce the ITU’s role in advancing global digital priorities including the SDGs, the WSIS Action Plan, and the Global Digital Compact – ensuring no region and no voice is left behind.
ADEL’S PRIORITIES FOR THE ITU
Putting Member States First
I will work to ensure that all countries, regardless of size or economic status, have an equal opportunity to shape the ITU’s agenda. In doing so, I will work to highlight ITU’s convening strength and ensure that Membership consultations power a fast-evolving, results-oriented Union of Equals.
Strengthening ITU from within
I will work to streamline processes, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, and enhance intersectoral coordination, with clear communication and transparent decision-making guiding efforts to provide ITU’s Membership with the information it needs to engage effectively, and build a Union of Trust.
Delivering on ITU's Global Mission
I will support the three ITU bureaus in uniting policy makers and engaging in interagency activity to advance, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the WSIS Action Plan, and the Global Digital Compact.
